Poll Finds Travel Preferences Shift Entering 2024

Some anticipate that traveler's preferences will shift in 2024. An August 2023 New York Post article published results from a poll of 2,000 Americans regarding their travel plans for 2024. The polling organization, OnePoll, conducted the survey for YMT Vacations. It found that respondents prioritized seeking relaxing vacations (51 percent), cultural explorations (43 percent), and visiting historical sites (38 percent). Simultaneously, 25 percent of respondents stated they prefer to see new and unfamiliar places, while 23 percent said they would like to re-visit prior destinations.

The poll found that Mexico (42 percent), Canada (42 percent), and France (42 percent). Spain (40 percent), Italy (32 percent), and Greece (21 percent) ranked as the top vacation spots and holiday destinations. It also found that natural beauty and landscapes (58 percent) was the most critical factor in choosing a location, followed by historical attractions (50 percent).
