Notal Vision Technologies for Eye Disease Diagnosis and Management

Notal Vision, Inc., is a Virginia-based eye center specializing in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) treatment. A provider of retinal disease monitoring services, Notal Vision has partnered with monitoring service companies to develop ForeseeHome, Notal Home OCT, and Notal OCT Analyzer.

ForeseeHome is a home-based program that uses preferential hyperacuity perimetry (PHP), a technology for detecting vision changes in AMD patients. Patients take a brief daily eye test, and the device sends the results to the Notal Vision monitoring center for analysis. Significant changes in vision trigger alerts to the physician's office, indicating AMD progression. By facilitating daily tests, ForeseeHome enables early detection and treatment of wet AMD, characterized by the abnormal growth of blood vessels beneath the retina.

Notal Home OCT (optical coherence tomography) is a minimally invasive imaging technology that eye doctors use to assess the retina and determine if treatment is necessary. It incorporates artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze the OCT scans, improving the accuracy and efficiency of assessing neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). Patients can take the eye test at home.

Notal OCT Analyzer (NOA) complements Notal Home OCT. When patients take an eye test, this computer program analyzes the images and generates a report for the eye doctor. NOA uses machine learning algorithms to distinguish between normal and abnormal changes in the retina caused by fluid. Using the report, eye doctors can determine the appropriate treatment.
